Nashville Warbler

Synopsis: Nests on or near ground in understory shrubs primarily in southwestern Oregon, and to some extent in foothills of northeastern Oregon and at lower elevations of the east slope of the Cascades near the Columbia Gorge. Most notable are the records from southern Malheur County (Oregon Canyon Mountains), and from the Ochoco and Blue Mountains.

Relative Detectability: Fairly easy to detect by sight and song, but difficult to confirm nesting because it nests on or near the ground in dense shrubs.

Challenge: Determine if this species breeds more widely than shown within the northern Coast Range, the Ochoco Mountains, and the Blue Mountains (especially, southern Grant County). Also refine knowledge of its breeding distribution on the east slope of the southern Cascades.
